Is permanent make-up like a tattoo?
It is like a tattoo in that it involves the implanting of pigment into the skin. However, unlike a traditional tattoo done with India ink, that is there forever, Sof-tap™ permanent make-up is actually semi-permanent and subtly fades away over the years, so no worry about regret later on. With Sof-tap™, there is no worry about color changes or fading into a grayish-greenish color as with a traditional tattoo.

What type of pigments are used?
Sof-tap™ pigments are FDA safe, hypo-allergenic, iron oxide pigments that are very natural looking and are exceptional in their ability to match individual skin tones. They are very true to color and heal into a nice, soft, almost powdery look, not fake or painted on.

Does the procedure hurt?
Most people describe the sensation as a "discomfort" similar to that of tweezing or plucking hair. A topical anesthetic can be used in most procedures to minimize discomfort.

How is the Sof-tap™ method different from other methods?
Sof-tap™ is very gentle! It is a manual method that allows for extreme precision and control, thus alleviating any worry of implanting pigment in the wrong area. Because it is so gentle, little anesthetic is needed and healing time is rapid. The Sof-tap™ micropigmentation pen is a disposable, one-time-use pen; alleviating worry of cross-contamination. The design of the pen also allows for the creation of "hair-like" strokes to simulate the look of real hair—perfect for eyebrow procedures!

What should I expect after my procedure?
Because Sof-tap™ is so gentle, there is very little bleeding, swelling, or bruising involved. You will be instructed to apply cold packs to the area the first day to minimize any swelling and if needed after that. Simply keep the area clean and covered with A&D ointment for a few days as instructed by the practitioner.

How long does a procedure take?
Typically, the actual procedure takes about 1-2 hours There will be additional time spent prior to the procedure in choosing the right color and shape (as with eyebrow procedures).
